First - today is Craven Moorehead's Birthday! So call him tonight during the SkaPunk show and request something "birthday-like."
New Releases in stores today, 3/9/10:
FRIGHTENED RABBIT, "The Winter Of Mixed Drinks" - The band build upon the buzz generated by their sophomore set "The Midnight Organ Fight" by creating this infectious offering, featuring the track "Swim Until You Can't See Land" and the epic favorite "Skip The Youth."
GORILLAZ, "Plasitc Beach" - The animated outfit return with more funky, poppy goodness. "Stylo" is the latest track to have hit written all over it. "Superfast Jellyfish" aslo has a promising future.
SERJ TANKIAN, "Elect The Dead Symphony" - Tankian's trip to play with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra is yielding this new concert CD/DVD offering, complete with reworked versions of tracks from his "Elect The Dead" album.
PAVEMENT, "Quarentine The Past: The Best Of Pavement" - The band's reunion this year leads to a reflection on their past, with 23 cuts ranging from their early favorite "Gold Soundz" to hits like "Cut Yoour Hair" and the set closer "Fight This Generation."
BROKEN BELLS, "Broken Bells" - The collaboration between The Shins' Jamers Mercer and Danger Mouse is not only generating buzz, but some great music as well. "The High Road" gets the melodic journey off on the right note and tracks like "vaoprize" and "The Ghost Inside" provide some depth to the disc.
