Video of Rage Against the Machine's censored SNL performance -Jayde
Posted 9/4/2010 5:12:00 PM
Back in 1996, when Steve Forbes was hosting Saturday Night Live, Rage Against the Machine was scheduled to play two songs. The plan was to do what they always do, hang upside-down American flags on the amps. BUT...SNL producers had another idea and thought it would offend Steve Forbes (Republican presidential candidate), so they were ordered to remove the flags. They didn't play their second song. Some say they left, others say they were forced to leave by the producers. You be the judge. The video below is the performance of Bulls on Parade, and the story behind it. Good times!
The video won't embed because apparently NBC filed a claim, but here's the link...

In other Jersey Shore news...Snooki’s boyfriend, Jeff Miranda, seems to have proposed to his Jersey Shore girlfriend. However, he did it in an unusual way. Miranda is pictured on the cover of Steppin’ Out magazine on one knee with the headline “Jeff Miranda Has a Question for Snooki: Will You Marry Me?” Jeff, by the way, is wearing a khaki bucket hat, fatigue pants and combat boots with no shirt on. So far, Snooki is yet to publically respond to Miranda’s proposal.

A Southwest Airlines flight attendant reportedly removed a baby from her parents' care mid-flight after witnessing the mother slap her crying child.
Flight 879 was enroute to Albuquerque from Dallas on Monday when the incident occurred. The flight attendant did return the 1-year-old girl to her parents just before the plane landed.
"Our flight attendants do great customer service," said Southwest Airlines spokesman Brad Hawkins. "In this case, it was a baby that was upset, and the flight attendant asked the mother if she wanted help with the baby."
He declined to release the name of the flight attendant.
Hawkins did not have further details about the onboard incident, but said the airline asked police to meet the plane when it arrived around 4:30 p.m. at the Albuquerque International Sunport.

Get your hands on new Soundgarden early!
Posted 8/4/2010 7:02:00 PM
If you want to get your hands on Soundgarden's first new album in 13 years a week before the normal CD buying public can get it? Your going to have to pony up for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock when it comes out on Sep. 28, as the album will be bundled with the popular band simulator. Which is one week before the CD will be available in stores.
Beyond Telephantasm: A Retrospective, Drummer Matt Cameron says that the band is Day to Day. Meaning that they are going to do shows and work on music on their own time, and the band will "know when they get there"
