So I figured I would try to keep you fine X1039 listeners up to speed with my favorite records "Thus Far" by listing and periodically updating my top 5.

So away we go !

1. Gogol Bordello-Transcontinental Hustle
2. Against Me-White Crosses
3. Devo-Something For Everybody
4. The Deftones-Diamond Eyes
5. Off With Their Heads-In Desolation

Lots of heavy hitters putting records out before the end of the year. Jimmy Eat World, Social Distortion, Bedouin Soundclash, Bad Religion...right off the top of my head. We will see if any of those big dogs can knock off my faves thus far.

Cheers,

Craven

and a drunk detective ( John Roecker) battling it out with the evil
professor (Tim Armstrong). The series is an homage to the 1970's
detective shows (I.e. Drinking, smoking, not p.c.) of yesteryear but
set in 2010 using the city of Los Angeles as a back drop. Shot guerilla
style with no permits or taste this is one web series people will never
forget. A series so shocking and sexy it will satisfy your bad taste
palette more than "cougar town"could! Special guest star jane wiedlin
from the go-go's also makes an appearance. The show will run though
march. For immature audiences only. You have been warned!

I was really looking forward to both the bands on this bill and both bands delivered. Up first was Sonic Boom Six from Manchester U.K. I happened to stumble across SB6 on the internet one day and was blown away by the music. A perfect blend of punk, ska, metal and even the slightest bit of hip hop thrown in for good measure. However recording good music these days and actually being able to perform live are two entirely different things .....but not for Sonic Boom Six......buy the records.....see them live next time they come to town.....and be glad that I told you so........they were phenomenal.

Up next was Big D and the Kids Table.....I was wondering how Big D was going to follow the high energy set ...

Saturday night with The Bollox at the Marquee !!!

A few months back Jason Devore from Authority Zero approached me with a new project he was working on called The Bollox. A project made up of friends who dug Celtic rock from the like of The Pogues, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphy's etc....So the band and I got together and recorded some tunes in a couple days and they actually came out amazingly good. Anyway they have been gigging around town at different pubs like Fibber Mcghee's,The Red Owl and took on the Marquee this past Saturday. I would really recommend checking them out if you get a chance and are into Celtic music in any way shape or form. We had a great time and to be quite honest I am still a little hung over from the whole affair. Props to The Bollox, Keltic Cowboys and Hall 13 for putting on a great show. I have posted some ...
