MUSE TO PLAY SNL
According to their Web site, Muse will play Saturday Night Live this month. The Brit band is set to appear on the comedy show on December 19th. Muse’s new album, The Resistance, is out now.
SNOOP, LOU REED AND MORE ON NEW GORILLAZ ALBUM
According to TwentyFourBit.com, Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed, Mos Def, The Horrors and more will all be featured on the upcoming Gorillaz album. The group’s creator, Damon Albarn, revealed that Bobby Womack and Barry Gibb also collaborated on Plastic Beach, but there is still no word as to when the animated band will release the album.
NIN SELL OFF TOURING EQUIPMENT
Is Nine Inch Nails really finished with touring forever? A post on NIN.com reveals that Trent Reznor is selling off their touring equipment after they retired from touring back in September. Reznor is selling items on eBay and promises many more items for sale in the coming weeks. Trent does specify that the equipment cannot be autographed for any fans interested in a personal touch. THE STROKES TO MAKE LIVE COMEBACK
The Strokes will make their live comeback in 2010 when they headline the English Isle of Wight festival next summer. The event will also feature performances from P!nk, Jay-Z, Blondie and more. The Strokes will likely be performing material from their upcoming album, which they began work on earlier this year.
NEW DEAD WEATHER BY MARCH 2010?
Jack White told Rolling Stone that he hopes that the second Dead Weather album will be done by March 2010. He said they have a lot of new songs “cooking right now” and describes the sound of the music as “expansive.” The Dead Weather has a tour of Australia set for March 2010.
BLUR REUNION DOCUMENTARY
According to NME, Blur’s 2009 reunion is set to be the subject of a new documentary. The film, which is titled after their 1999 song “No Distance Left to Run,” will come out on January 19th in the U-K and was directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace. THE CLASH TO RE-ISSUE LONDON CALLING
In celebration of London Calling’s 30th anniversary, The Clash are re-releasing their classic album with some bonus footage. Along with the original album (with a different track list than the 25th anniversary release of the record), the re-issue will also include music videos, home movies of the band plus the documentary The Last Testament: The Making of London Calling. London Calling: 30th Anniversary Legacy Edition hits shelves on December 15th.
